Kitchen Tip: Salt Your Pan First!

Did you know a simple sprinkle of salt can make your cooking easier? Before heating your stainless steel pan, try adding a thin layer of salt. It creates a natural barrier that helps prevent food from sticking to the surface.
Not only does this little trick save you from frustrating cleanup, but it also adds a touch of flavor to whatever you're cooking. Next time you're in the kitchen, give it a try and see the difference!

Lemon-Basil Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients
  • 1 lb fettuccine noodles
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: grated Parmesan and red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions:
Start by cooking the fettuccine noodles in boiling water until al dente, about 9–10 minutes. During the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the shrimp to the pot so they cook alongside the pasta. Once done, drain everything and set aside. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant but not browned. Add the cooked pasta and shrimp to the pan, then drizzle with fresh lemon juice and sprinkle in the chopped basil. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and if desired, finish with a touch of grated Parmesan and a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
